Presents

Addiction-Free Pain Management® 20 CE Hour Certification School
Optional Competency Certification Available

August 5-7, 2010 — Sacramento, CA

The Addiction Free Pain Management® (APM) Certification School training is designed to teach the skills needed to successfully work with people with chronic pain and potential or actual addictive disorders. Addictive disorders often lead to one set of biopsychosocial problems. When combined with pain disorders, they lead to another set of problems called the Addiction-Pain Syndrome. This syndrome produces a synergistic outcome where one plus one no longer equals 2, but 3 or more. The APM Training is a strategic and systematic clinical process that successfully addresses this Syndrome.

You will be trained to implement the three core methodologies of APM: (a) Core Clinical Components; (b) Medication Management Planning; and (c) Nonpharmacological Interventions which will be accomplished using a combination of lectures, discussions, demonstrations, dyads and small group experiential exercises.

After this training, you will be eligible to complete the optional Competency Certification credential by submitting an APM Certification Portfolio and a non-refundable portfolio review and credentialing fee of $95. To learn more about the benefits of obtaining this Gorski-CENAPS® credential, please email sgrinstead@cenaps.com and request a copy.

Addiction-Free Pain

The CENAPS® Corporation Presents

Advanced Clinical Skills Training in Relapse Prevention

For healthcare providers who are responsible for containing the cost of addiction treatment, Relapse Prevention is a top priority. It's easy to understand when forty seven percent of patients return to chemical use within the first year following stays at private treatment programs. Of those who relapse, approximately 40% will have short-term, low consequence relapses and rapidly return to recovery, while 60% will have long-term, high consequence relapses that require costly treatment.

It is vital to have a specialty Relapse Prevention program that lowers relapse rates and can intervene early so that the duration, severity, and consequences of relapse episodes will be diminished. Relapse Prevention will significantly reduce the cost of treating relapse-prone patients and why Terence Gorski developed trainings that include optional competency certification credentialing.

This 44 CE hour training is for professional clinicians who want to learn powerful approaches for supporting clients to identify and manage the core personality and life-style warning signs that lead to someone becoming dysfunctional in recovery and eventually relapsing. In its eighth revision that is streamlined and simplified to be administered in a limited number of sessions, this training forms a foundation for clients to deal with the chronic, physical and emotional pain that often precedes relapse.

Ideal for clinicians working with people who want to go in-depth by identifying the core personality driven patterns that repeatedly compel them into self-defeating patterns leading to relapse.

This training presents 14 core processes divided into five sections: life and addiction history, recovery relapse hisory, warning sign identification, warning sign management, and recovery planning. It presents a treatment process that relates current warning signs to the core dynamics of personality and life-style patterns that drive them. As a result, it is most appropriate for clinicians working with people with a stable recovery who are willing and able to examine life-time patterns and relate those patterns to the problem of relapse. This process is more involved than the warning sign identification and management process. This training will include a stratigic combination of lectures and demonstrations as well as group and individual experiential skill training exercises.

Training Fee
The fee for this 44 CE hour training is $695.00.
