Please Check Out Our Newly Revised Relapse Prevention Therapy Workbook
We are excited to announce that the newly revised Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT) Workbook is now available for purchase. For several years, Mr. Terence T. Gorski and I have been co-teaching, modifying the process, and field testing all of the exercises contained in this newly revised, simplified, and updated version of Relapse Prevention Therapy. If a person is willing to be open and honest as well as actively complete each of the fourteen developmental exercises in this workbook, they may never have to experience the pain of relapse again.
The goal of the new RPT Workbook is to give recovering people a concise series of exercises that can help them to learn how to recognize and manage those self-defeating pattern of relapse warning signs as soon as they begin to develop. Once they recognize that their personal relapse process has been active they can take steps to manage the warning signs in a way that motivates them to move back into a more effective recovery program. This workbook provides people with a series of fourteen (14) exercises that will allow them to stop the relapse process before alcohol or other drug use begins.
This version of the RPT Workbook is much more “user friendly” than previous version. When you pick up this workbook the first thing you will notice is its size. It is much shorter that previous versions. This is because there are fewer exercises and that each exercise has been simplified and focused upon a key recovery skill. We also included real examples of how clients who succeeded with RPT completed some of the key exercises. The revised exercises are also carefully sequenced to insure that the knowledge and skills developed in one exercise will be reinforced and built upon in the next exercise. The concept of looking for repetitive self-defeating patterns that lead from stable recovery to relapse is emphasized at each step of the process.
