Opiates Are NOT a Good Idea for Neuropathic Pain Conditions Like Fibromyalgia
Thursday, May 17th, 2012I don’t believe that opiates are a good choice for neuropathic chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia. In fact, opiates were tested and meant for acute pain conditions and in many cases cause harm when used over long periods of time. People can find better treatment medications combined with other non-medication interventions and have good pain management and freedom from suffering. I believe that freedom from suffering is everyone’s right–but it is also their responsibility.
Please check out my new Freedom from Suffering: A Journey of Hopee book where I an entire section on the role of multidisciplinary integrated chronic pain management treatment plans for obtaining more effective chronic pain management and freedom from suffering. Throughout this book I bring my passion and my personal history of living with chronic pain for the past three decades. To purchase my new Freedom from Suffering book please click here.
