Dr. Grinstead Discusses Collaborative Treatment for Effective Chronic Pain Management and Freedom from Suffering
Monday, February 27th, 2012Today I want to talk about using collaboration not competition as well as utilizing a multidisciplinary approach when working with people living with chronic pain and coexisting disorders including addiction. I believe it is imperative for pain management physicians to work hand-in-hand with other healthcare disciplines and the patients themselves in order to provide the best treatment outcomes for this population.
In a video I reference a report in the online US News and World Report covering a study posted in the May 2009 Journal of the American Medical Association that states that collaborative care helps ease chronic pain that validates his position.
