Dr. Stephen Grinstead Discusses the Role of Trauma in Chronic Pain Management

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012

Today I want to discuss how over the past 28 years I’ve noticed that many of my chronic patients who developed moderate to severe coexisting psychological disorders including addiction also suffered from moderate to severe unresolved psychological trauma—most times dating back to childhood.

That is why I believe it is important to focus on the role of unresolved trauma for effective chronic pain management.  In my new book Freedom from Suffering: A Journey of Hope I share more on the role of trauma resolution for achieving true freedom from suffering and how this information can bring hope and healing to people suffering with their chronic pain.

Dr. Grinstead Speaks Out About The “So Called” Prescription Drug Abuse Epidemic

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

I want to play devil’s advocate regarding the “So Called” Prescription Drug Abuse Epidemic. As I explain in my new book Freedom from Suffering: A Journey of Hope, I DO NOT believe in the concept of a “BAD” medication. I believe that it depends on making sure it is the right medication for the individual and the benefits outweigh the side effects. I do believe that there is a Chronic Pain Epidemic in the United States; with some credible sources saying at least 116 million Americans are living with chronic pain and we are spending over $600 Billion per year on pain management and lost productivity.

To learn more and watch a video I recorded on this so called prescription drug abuse epidemic please please click here.

In my new book I bring my passion and my own personal history of living with chronic pain for the past three decades. For more about my book and some free offers, please check out my new book’s website at FreedomFromSufferingBook.com.
