The Bridge to Recovery is Celebrating 35 Years

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

I was invited to join the Staff at The Bridge to Recovery in Bowling Green Kentucky for their Professionals’ Day at their beautiful program.  Please make sure to go to the Bridge to Recovery Website to learn more about this phenomenal program.  I was very excited to also reconnect with an old friend and colleague John Stenzel who is the new Executive Director. The staff is very knowledgeable and effective with their clients and the atmosphere of this rural program is very serene and a great place for health and healing.

The Bridge to Recovery is celebrating 35 years of providing Excellence in Codependency Treatment for over 4,000 people since it opened. They are a 16 to 90 day adult residential facility but some clients choose to stay even longer.

This program is ideal for anyone who:

  • Is addicted to a person, substance or process.
  • Were reared in stressful, painful or troubled environment in early life.
  • Have suffered major losses (death, deprivation or divorce).
  • Are currently or have been subjected to emotional repression  spiritual, psychological, physical, or sexual abuse.
  • Need relief from the debilitating aspects of shame and self doubt.
  • Are motivated to identify recurring problems in their lives that threaten their sobriety or their personal well-being and that of their loved ones.
  • Want to attain mature coping skills.
  • Recognize that compulsive behavior is behavior-without-choice and that, in order to maintain a stable recovery, they need to find a spiritual solution.
